For years, actually for over one decade I watch SciFi series and movies, but never thought that there was actually something like SciFi Conventions. Stupid somehow but actually I never thought about it and had enough of nonsense in my head anyways.

Well one day I decided to get some more information about actors from Star Trek-New Enterprise and Battlestar Galactica. The Commanders were familiar to me because I had seen other series with them but the rest of the cast was fairly unfamiliar for me. So I asked the internet. First I searched through the database of IDMB a very informal page if you'd like to now some facts about actors; then i googled them.

I got a very long list from google and spent the next days reading. Two or three days later of just reading new, i found an interesting link. It was the page for a Convention but I wasn't that interested in it at first because I thought it showed news about a Convention that took place somewhen in the past. Nevertheless i visited Utopiasite.com and started reading. When I reached the place where I could read the date of the Convention I was stunned. I read it three times to be sure that I didn't mess things up. I can't describe how I felt because my favourite actors were on the list of the guest:

Connor Trinneer and Tahmoh Penikett

I felt hot and warm at the same time. I knew: "No matter how, you're gonna get there!" There was just one little problem: I have no car! So i had to find someone who could pick me up and take me to Scheveningen.

I called every possible friend I knew but despite the fact that my phone bills exploded, nothing happened. The search was frustrating. Either they hat no time or were not interested or not spontaneous enough. Unfortunately not many people are as spontaneous as me.

In the evening I looked for some alternatives what meant taking the train or rent a car. I could barely sleep that night because I thought about the Netherlands all the time. Because I didn't have a lot of time for I was working on my Diploma.

The only important thing i knew was the fact that I had to get there, no matter how. So i looked for the cheapest train connection because you don't habe that much money as a student. I was nervous and could sleep a lot, so my Diploma suffered from that a bit.

The next day I went on trying to find someone who could take me there and googled again. I found someone in a forum and wrote a mail to her asking how she would get there. The answer wasn't satisfying, as I already had expected, because she (Kathy) would take the train to the Netherlands. The only good part in that was the fact, that we mailed a lot and later talked on ICQ. We talked a lot and still do. When all tries had failed I tried one last colleague because I thought he couldn't say more than 'no'.I asked him and he really agreed to lending me his car!

I immediately bought a Weekend Ticket and was so exited! All in one this Convention cost me 5 days of sleep!
